I recently came across these images and the associated YouTube
video. Now I've seen some innovative things in my day but

I have actually cut loose hairs around locs w/ fire.
BTW, in some African nations (Senegal where I'm from) instead of using scissors to cut loose hairs around braids (w/ or w/out extensions) we use fire. I had it done most of my life while I lived there and I never had to deal w/split ends...Hair was always long and full so I guess it did work for me.
