Braids
are a terrific option because they enable you to keep much or all of
your chemically treated hair while you gain an acceptable natural
length before cutting off the relaxed ends. I love braids because
they're versatile, exotic and can give you instant length. Consider the undisputed Queen of Braids, Brandi, for example. This sista has worn at least 100 different braid styles over the years and it doesn't seem as if her stylists will ever stop coming up with new ones. Brandi is proof positive that you can do just about anything with braids from color changes, to different styles, to varying lengths. Braids...the natural woman's best
friend.
If you get your braid extensions done professionally, be sure to go to an experienced hairstylist who uses quality hair. Human hair is best because it enables the style to endure longer and does less damage to the cuticle; however inexpensive alternatives are available.
I also recommend that you cut off the Relaxer as soon as possible because you will only need a few inches of hair for the stylist to work with anyway.
