Although dreadlocks and Rastafarianism continues to be shrouded in controversy in Jamaica and throughout much of the world, for the first time in history, crowned its first dreadlocked Rasta "Miss Jamaica."
Miss Redwood serves as an inspiration to young and not so young Black females throughout the Diaspora who through no fault of their own believe that dark-skin, African features, natural Black hair, etc, etc are not beauty ideals.
Although Miss Redwood failed to place in the top 15 during the 2007 pageant, she serves as a trailblazer for those of use who can only hope to be so beautiful and daring.

Are Zahra'z Dreadlocks Real? You know, I asked the same question until I saw this photo.
It appears as if she either straightened (hot combed or relaxed) her roots during the actual Miss Universe competition or, they're extensions. The photo below show's a bit more natural roots but looking at the others...I'm not quite sure.
You tell us...real or fake? Does it matter? Comment below.
