New York Post Apologizes for Racially Tinged Chimp Cartoon

SOURCE: NY Post Apology
This morning in it’s editorial section the NY POST apologizes for a cartoon in Wednesday’s paper that had many across the country screaming foul.
It was meant to mock an ineptly written federal stimulus bill.
Period.
But it has been taken as something else - as a depiction of President Obama, as a thinly veiled expression of racism.
This most certainly was not its intent; to those who were offended by the image, we apologize.
Is their apology enough?

Is it enough? Hmmm…I don’t expect anything else. I don’t even consider what they stated as an apology. An apology is given when you admit to wrong doing. They’re not admitting to doing anything wrong. NY Post is only trying to appease the angry enough so that it won’t turn into a full out riot. Nothing changes though. Someone can always write an article that potrays racism, sexism, etc. and then apologize for it. It doesn’t take it back so in the end the NY Post and any other form of media accomplishes their goal of spreading racist views. Damn freedom of speech!
